View Full Version : [FIXED][3.0svn] HtmlEditor ignores backspace and delete keys on Firefox

17 Jun 2009, 1:57 PM
The HtmlEditor ignores backspace and delete keys on Firefox until the text is actually changed by pressing a character key. This problem doesn't occur with IE or Chrome. For example, the HtmlEditor created by...

var field = new Ext.form.HtmlEditor({
height: 300,
width: 500,
value: 'xxxxx',
renderTo: Ext.getBody()
...will display 'xxxxx' in the editor textarea (as it should) but if you position the cursor somewhere in the text and hit backspace or delete, nothing happens.

But, after you type in some text, the keys work as they should.

How about that. I'll check out the fix YUI has used.

Fixed in SVN, both branches.

By both branches, do you mean version 2 and version 3 of ExtJS? Can you please direct me to instructions on gaining svn access?

SVN access is available with a support subscription http://extjs.com/store/extjs/

OK, Thanks. I'll look into that. We do have a Team license, but not the support subscription at this point.

I had also asked whether this was fixed in version 2 & 3. We're using version 3.0 in a new project that's just firing up, so no worries there. But we're also using version 2.x in a project that's close to completion. That's one I'm concerned about right now.

Thanks again!
