View Full Version : [CLOSED][3.0RC2]Progress Window does not work

I've had some code working in ExtJS 2.x for quiet some time without any problems, but recently, when I moved things over to 3.0rc2 I ran into something which appears to be broken in the latest release.

If I do the following... create a basic progress bar window...

ProgressWindow = Ext.Msg.wait('Please wait while your username and password are checked', 'Authenticating', {
animate: true
});

I receive the following error

Ext.TaskMgr is undefined

All I'm doing it making a call to the Ext.Msg.wait function, and now if I use 3.0rc2 on my site, I get this error any time Ext.Msg.wait is called.

I just went here:
http://extjs.com/deploy/ext-3.0-rc2/examples/window/hello.html

Pasted your code into firebug and hit run and did not encounter any issues.

Please don't tag the status either, leave that for a developer to do:

Ahh, sorry about that, didn't realize that was done by a developer, I'll keep that in mind for the future.

What does that have to do with the issue I posted?...(not trying to be rude)

I said that I use use the following code...

ProgressWindow = Ext.Msg.wait('Please wait while your username and password are checked', 'Authenticating', {
animate: true
});

with 3.0RC2, I get an the error...

Ext.TaskMgr is undefined

Opening a window works just fine, I never said that it gave me any problems. It is the Ext.Msg.wait() function which is causing the error.

To eliminate any issues on my site, I created a basic empty page, put ...

<script>
ProgressWindow = Ext.Msg.wait('Please wait while your username and password are checked', 'Authenticating', {
animate: true
});
</script>

in the body tag, and I still get the error. Anywhere I have a call to the Ext.Msg.wait() function, I am getting the previously mentioned error.

Again, I went to this location:
http://extjs.com/deploy/ext-3.0-rc2/examples/window/hello.html

I went there because you said RC2. So that is a mutually accessible site which has RC2 so we have the same playing field for starters.

Then I said I took the code you posted:

ProgressWindow = Ext.Msg.wait('Please wait while your username and password are checked', 'Authenticating', {
animate: true
});

and ran it from firebug console.

And it ran just fine. So, I'm looking for you to show me how that code doesn't work with RC2 because when I run it there is no issue.

Short of that, suggest you post a complete working showcase of your situation which you have run and observed the problem. See here for how to post code:

I'm almost guessing that you're later going to tell me you have not included ext-base.js in your head section, that is why I want to make sure you post a complete working showcase.

Just a side note here, don't want to distract from the main problem - and im assuming when you post a working showcase that this will be fixed - but assigning the return of a an Ext.Msg to a variable is pointless since its a singleton to begin with.

ProgressWindow.hide(); is the same as Ext.Msg.hide();

Here, I have stripped it down to the most basic code...

<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.extjs.com/deploy/ext-3.0-rc2/resources/css/ext-all.css" />
<title>Testpage</title>
</head>
<body>
<script language="javascript" type='text/javascript' src='http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/adapter/jquery/jquery.js'></script>
<script language="javascript" type='text/javascript' src='http://www.extjs.com/deploy/ext-3.0-rc2/adapter/jquery/ext-jquery-adapter.js'></script>
<script language="javascript" type='text/javascript' src='http://www.extjs.com/deploy/ext-3.0-rc2/ext-all.js'></script>
<script>
Ext.namespace('Site');
Site.app = function() {
return {
init: function() {
alert('Before Wait Call');
Ext.Msg.wait('Please wait while your username and password are checked', 'Authenticating', {
animate: true
});
alert('After Wait Call');
}
}
}();
Ext.onReady(Site.app.init, Site.app);
</script>

</body>
</html>

I am using the jquery adapter if that makes any difference. I need it because I am actually using one of the ExtFlot graphing extension.

hmm...

I changed it from jquery to ext, and that functionality now works... Does this mean that ExtJS3 will not support jquery entirely? Or is this something still in the works?

As mentioned, yes that is relevant information. RC2 adapters were not all built correctly, some of them were missing the file like noticed. You can rebuild using the jsb file, or just include the missing file manually after you include ext-all. The problem was rectified after RC2 and is available if you have svn access.

Thanks, and that's good to hear that this is fixes in SVN. Although that doesn't help the company I am working for at the moment. Once I get a few we apps made for this company, we should be getting a subscription/license, as it is going to be a large company.

Looking forward to future releases, thanks.

Thank you, and feel free to close this, as the bug has already been taken care of in SVN. Thanks again.
