I'd like to have a grid without lines, specifically the row lines. How would I go about doing that.

Right, well, doing your job for you by running up a grid example page, looking at the DOM in firebug, and seeing where the borders are applied, I find that the border is coming from the rule

.x-grid3-row {
border:1px solid;
cursor:default;
width:100%;
}

So you need to override that.

Thanks Animal,

I had guessed it might be something like that and was poking through some examples and grid.css but didn't find it. Probably because my css skills are lacking. Maybe I should remedy that eh? Might prove useful someday.

Go to the wiki, find the section on screencasts, find the one about skinning Ext where Jack Slocum shows how he does it. Shows how you can use firebug to inspect and find the style declarations etc.

Use Firebug. Right click the GridPanel select "Inspect Element".

Navigate to the grid row div, and then look at the style tab. It tells you exactly hos the elements are styled and where the styles come from.
