View Full Version : ext Docs copied for my own use, but hangs in IE

21 Jul 2009, 4:04 AM

I thought this issue was a bug in my code after copying the ext docs to use in another project, however the same error occurs if I do this directly in the ext docs.

go to folder ext js docs
rename index.html to index.php
in IE (im using v.8), clear browsing history, and open the ../docs on your server.
Result :
IE hangs on page load with :
(1 item remaining) Waiting for http://localhost/ext3/docs/...

If I hit the browser stop button, page loads fine and thereafter loads fine too using cached data.
I'm am running latest xampp on win xp. this error does not occur in FF or Chrome.

Any help appreciated. thanks.

Ext is meant to be used on a HTTP server. Publish the Ext SDK on a local Apache server.

If you don't want a HTTP server, you could include the ext-basex.js user extension in the index.html file.

(I would recommend the first option)

hi Condor, thanks for the quick reply, I am running apache 2.2 on my local machine (xampp dist.) and am running the ext on http://localhost.
This is IE specific issue, works fine on FF and Chrome on http://localhost

or did I misunderstand your response?
