I found that default sorting feature attached to data grid is no longer enabled. I mean from the it is appearing as disabled.

Few months ago, I updated extjs to latest, not sure this happened after that upgrade, I know it worked previously, but didn't check it after the upgrade until now.

Can someone please let me know, how can this happen and how can I fix this...

Sorry, I am unable to include application URL here, as it is of commercial application with confidential data. But I can paste code section, if you can specify..

Thanks and Best Regards

How about posting how the store is setup?

Hello! I have the same question!

this is code:

Sorting is disabled (no reaction on clicking on column heads, but no errors, and sorting items on drop-down menu of column is GREY).

Have any ideas?

UP, I have the same problem and can't fix it :
I had a grid working with ext 2, since I upgraded to v3 sorting is disabled as described above.
If I use the previous ext-all.js it is working again but I need the new version for other features.

Thank you for any help.

CustomerDataStore = new Ext.data.Store({
id: 'CustomerDataStore',
remoteSort: true,
proxy: new Ext.data.HttpProxy({
url: 'admin/database.php',
method: 'POST'
baseParams:{task: "LISTING"}, // this parameter is passed for any HTTP request
reader: new Ext.data.JsonReader({
root: 'results',
totalProperty: 'total'
{name: 'customerID', type: 'int', mapping: 'customerID'},
{name: 'type_need', type: 'string', mapping: 'type_need'},
{name: 'submit_date', type: 'date', mapping: 'submit_date'},
{name: 'purchaser_name_first', type: 'string', mapping: 'purchaser_name_first'},
{name: 'purchaser_name_last', type: 'string', mapping: 'purchaser_name_last'},
{name: 'purchaser_email', type: 'string', mapping: 'purchaser_email'},
sortInfo:{field: 'customerID', direction: "DESC"}

Hi, i had the same problem, but:

my code looks like this:

var grid = new Ext.grid.GridPanel({
stateId: 'grid',

it's weird but when i changed stateId it worked
so this works:

var grid = new Ext.grid.GridPanel({
stateId: 'gridx',
