I typically do not consider myself to be a slow, but I feel that I am missing some basic concepts about LiveGrid.

First, let me state the functionality that I am looking for:

1. Be able to display very large datasets in grid
2. Obtain display data on server as to avoid large resource hits on the client side
3. Is LiveGrid an on-demand based system?
4. Be able to filter grid based on form fields entered by user
5. How do I implement remote filtering with live grid?

I think the bottom line is that I cannot find the appropriate example for me to move forward. Since I am on a very tight deadline, I would be more than happy to pay for such an example.

Any help in this area would be appreciated.

The author has a site detailing it: http://www.ext-livegrid.com/

With an example: http://www.ext-livegrid.com/demo/ with viewable source code and viewable JSON requests (which look totally standard to me)

Thanks so much for the response. I have seen all documentation and examples in that area. In addition, I have spent at least 36 hours looking at other examples and sites. Regardless, I am still confused about a couple of basic issues, or I am having a synaptic disconnect.

The examples I have seen show how to create a store of large client side data, then display the grid. However, I am trying to find out how to:

Display server-side data on demand as needed for display, which means that only the displayed rows need to be obtained from the database at any given time. Where is that example, or please tell me what concept I am missing.

Thanks again.

That's what that does. It pages it in from the server.

I have seen this specific demo before. My problem is that I do not see the communication that goes on between store, grid and the server.php file. In short, can I PM you on per hour support options regarding this issue and other issues as well?

Actually, how do I PM is this forum?
