I was wondering if there are any available PHP editor plugins, with syntax highlighting/checking? Or if I will have to create my own.

Thanks,
Matt

There are lots of PHP IDEs.

Aptana does Javascript/Ext and PHP and HTML

With some netbeans/eclipse knowledge, those IDEs can also do pretty much every language. On OSX, i would highly suggest TextMate

I use dreamweaver for my IDE, but I'm talking about a stripped down IDE - an extjs plugin, where I can edit php code within my web app, and have syntax checking and highlighting.

Try this one (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79927)

You can read about it here (http://www.cdolivet.com/index.php?page=editArea)

Demo is here (http://www.cdolivet.com/editarea/editarea/exemples/exemple_full.html)

EditArea doesn't play well with Ext. Put it in a tab and switch tabs and you'll see what I mean.

Try CodeMirror.
