Grid with rows pre-selected

Hi,
I need to select some rows while loading the grid, i tried to use

rowselectionmodel.selectRow(id) in the afterrender event of the gridpanel, but this does not select the required rows.
Please let me know in which event to use the rowselectionmodel to select the rows.

it should be rowIndex, not rowId
