View Full Version : Ext.Direct for CakePHP

27 Nov 2009, 5:56 PM
Actually I didn't do so much.

Just get the Tommy Maintz (http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68186) and goachka (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79211) implementations ,and apply to CakePHP.

You can clone a working example from http://github.com/eabay/directcakephp

It also contains a CakePHP combine helper to minimize javascript and css files.

Next version will be able to get methods of spesific controllers (with a property or from doc comments like elishnevsky (http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72245) implementation) and return rendered output as result.

Thx for the project erhan!

How is the DirectController thought to be used?
I want to only have ExtJS calls, so should all my Controllers extend the DirectController or should all requests go to the DirectController and this one routes them to the righ tcontroller? Or do I have to right everything as vendor class in directclasses? I'm missing a bit of explanation here....

Why did you change on the test.php in line 60 ROOT to a specific path?
define('CAKE_CORE_INCLUDE_PATH', 'X:\Server\htdocs\directcakephp');

Where do you use the combine helper? Or is this just for usage in your own app? (cause I want to compress my js as well and therefore use YUI Compressor for all my js files)

Is this stack up to date with ExtJS 3.2 and Cake 1.3?

I am doing a new implementation based on Tommy's original php stack that will be for ExtJS 3.2 and Cake 1.2. Although Erhan's solution works, I could not find much use for it given it doesn't work using methods from cake controllers.

I should have something posted in the next couple days! :)
