Hi,

A client asks for a news ticker, several paragraphs of text that will keep scrolling inside a div.
Is it a good idea to build it using ext or will it block user actions?
Do I create an ext task that run every couple of ms?

Thanks

Shouldn't block unless you're making blocking calls to get the text every time the display changes. I'd probably just set it up where you get all of the content on page load, save it into an array, and write a delayed task or setTimeout to cycle through that array and display whatever's there. I wouldn't do it every couple ms though... More like 3-5 seconds (3000-5000ms)

You could just setup a task Manager that grabs the content off the server and drop it in your div. really really simple.
