View Full Version : adding events to YAHOO.ext.Element a bad thing?

So I'm still looking for a solution to call syncBodyHeight when YAHOO.ext.BasicDialog.body is updated. Right now I'm thinking, what if I started adding events to YAHOO.ext.Element? In this case, adding an "updated" event that is fired when YAHOO.ext.Element.update is called. However, my concern is that as many YAHOO.ext.Elements are created in the course of an average yui-ext page, this could create a lot of events in the page. Is this a bad thing?

Personally I wouldn't do it. There used to be some events in the Element object and they were axed for that very reason.

If you want to know when the element is updated, it's UpdateManager has that event for you.
