Here's a simple clock extension I created using Raphael extending BoxComponent. I'll be demoing this at SenchaCon 2010 tomorrow, hope to see you there :).
To try it out, drop it into the Ext JS 3.3 examples folder.

Thats awesome Mats. Nice clean example. Very understandable. :)
In http://ext-scheduler.com/playpen/senchacon/index4.html on Chrome the background image of the bridge is going some pixels up and down with every tick of the second. In FF no wobbling.
Great presentation Mats. Your talk helped clear up a lot of questions I had about component development. Great demo too!

The other thing I just noticed, some times when the second hand moves from "high noon" to the first second the "bounding rectangle" (which coincidentally is the bounds for the distortion) shortens the hand to about the length of the hour hand...Quote:

Even more fun upon zooming in, I've noticed that the Hand of the statue on the Rio De Janeiro clock closest to the San Fran clock is also "twitching" along with the San Fran clock, when the second hand is in the left hemisphere of the San Fran clock
