  3. We're debating this and would love outside opinion.

    Consider the following code:

  5. Attaching a basic test case in Touch 2.2 and Architect 2.2.2 that demonstrates usage of the updateRecord in this scenario.
  6. Yes, they will even run in phones. However, much common functionality (i.e. taps, slides) is only present in Touch. If possible, one should use Touch when targeting those platforms.
  7. Hi,

    I'm just learning Touch 2.1, so please forgive my ignorance. I don't know why I'm struggling with this basic example. I have the following basic store:

    I think the easiest way to start is by playing ("fiddling") around on; here's my ExtJS 4.0.7 base which you are free to do with as you please:

  13. I've worked with ExtJS for a little over two years now, and I believe you will enjoy my style of "teaching". Easy-paced examples with source and demos. I'm by no means an expert, but I...
  14. That works, thanks!

    Still, curious as to why that body resize event doesn't trigger...
  15. In my document, if I do:

    <body onresize="Ext.getCmp('alacartecontrol').doLayout();">

    ... it works great for resizing my component whenever the window is resized or zoomed.
  16. So, apparently my problem was using a "container" in the right column. As soon as I switched it to "panel", everything started working properly.

    Are containers not managed by layout managers...
  17. I have the following:

    Ext.define('Tools4ever.aLaCarte.Control', {
    extend: 'Ext.panel.Panel'
    , alias: ['widget.alacartecontrol']
    , title: 'A la Carte'
    , border: true
    , frame: true
  18. If that's the case - shouldn't the same thing happen to the .items array?

    I thought the whole point of Ext.define was that it doesn't apply any config to the actual prototype, but rather it...
  19. When browsing samples I saw problems with layouts that I saw in 3.x - bottom and side borders of panels wouldn't display properly half the time.

    Now I'm playing with 4.x myself, and it seems this...
  20. I made the following basic example:

    Ext.define('test.Window', {
    extend: 'Ext.window.Window'
    , alias: ['widget.testwindow']
    , title: 'A la Carte'
    , width: 400
    , height: 250

    Figured it out - I gotta do "extend" not "extends" and "Ext.window.Window", not "Ext.Window"

    I also found the examples confusing - how about a very simple "here's how you extend Ext.Window, configure internal config, and pass external config into it".

    I can't even figure this out;...
  23. I don't think I'm explaining my dilemma properly. I don't want to turn the actual body into a panel. I want to add a stand-alone floating panel.

    I can easily accomplish this by using pre-coded...
  24. ...I should've clarified: I do not want to make the whole body into a panel, and I do not wish to use any kind of pre-hardcoded markup to accomplish this.
  25. Seems like forum is slow & half the time I get "error 504" or something.

    Am I the only one?
