    [INFOREQ] Prototype.js

    Using prototype.js with ExtJS3 and ExtJS4, has proven to be troublesome for me.

    In both the ExtJS3 adapter (coming from the getDom method) and the ExtJS4 addListener, I see ExtJS trying to add...

    10 minute ListBehave plugin

    I really hate lists that are elastic for no reason.

    Usage:

    new Ext.List({
    ...
    plugins:[
    new Ext.ux.ListBehave({pinTop:true,pinBot:true})
    ]

    setActiveItem(obj, false); does not work. If you look at the source, it expects a cardanimation or it defaults to the tabpanel's defaultanimation. This means, you can't have a default animation on a...

    Overriding TabPanel Animation

    I have a tabpanel with a default animation of "slide"
    I want to be able to change to a panel in the tabpanel with NO animation. How can I do that through setActiveItem? The cardanimation object...

    Stores don't enforce any type of data structure. The reader decides what data format it will accept. Models, conversely, do enforce a data structure (regardless of format).

    Wrapping something up in PhoneGap requires a simple Javascript wrapping function around the Ext.Setup({...}) and XCode to build it (for iPhone). Don't worry about that. That's the easy part.

    That's fancy!

    Since you're working with centralized data, can't you put it in a singleton? window.my.name.space.mydata = data; then have stores both reference it?

    There is no JSON.stringify. If you specify a JSONReader, it expects your server to have sent you valid JSON.

    This is not valid JSON:

    You cannot cover javascript popups. You can cover Ext.messages. You are restricted by HTML/javascript/CSS

    Post an example object and how you are trying to load it. I'm not sure how or why you would "send" a javascript object.

    Maybe you should look at:

  14. One day I'll get the hang of this

    Since you have specified 'fullscreen' on the parent container, all you have to do is specify scroll:true on either the parent or child container. See my example code here.

    And he said it was good.

    Simply assigning text to the property sets it, when you clear the value. Does this not work for you?

    Another way

    you can also rebuild all the css with a change using their SASS build, but it's easier, simpler, and ultimately preferable to just add a new class. That's what I ended up doing too.

    Another day another dollar

    Naming an argument, doesn't mean it's going to be that...you just got the event/source args reversed in the tap handler.

    One more time, with feeling

    By default, getGroupString() on a store, creates groups from the results. So I'm not sure how you are getting group bars when you have no results.

    I don't fully understand your question. I mocked up what you posted in a readable and testable format.
    Can you run this and explain again, what doesn't look right?

  21. I'm interested

    What do you mean by, "out of sync"?

    The clearSelection() should be done on the beforeshow() handler, but other than that, this looks like an app I would produce and be happy with.

    UI coding is really an art that takes a little bit of "Wrapper" thinking. This is true in CSS, Java SWING, HTML, and now Sencha/Touch.
