  1. Thanks. :)
  2. This seems to be missing from the v5 docs.

    Exists in v4:

    http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.2.0/#!/api/Ext.util.Positionable-method-alignTo

    Not in v5:

  3. Thanks Mitchell.

My comment was a JOKE! :)

Sometimes it seems that a little levity is needed around here.
  4. And if it's not done? No documentation? :D
  5. GPL can be downloaded here: http://www.sencha.com/legal/GPL/

I'm not sure what you do if you have a license for 5.1 but no support.

As we all know the single dev license is dead, so to move on...

What would be a good release cycle for bug fix point releases?

I'd like to see at a minimum a monthly release of bug fixes.

  9. Great to hear! Please continue to communicate with us.

It will make our planning more reliable. I cannot commit to deadlines when I know nothing and hear nothing.

Art Landro, Sencha CEO, answered (and closed) the "Is Sencha screwing Single Developers" thread after over 1200 replies.

Maybe if we all keep asking on this thread over and over, we will get a...

I am trying to catch events from a "sibling" component and not a child.

I think that is my problem and it seems that I must catch and handle the event in the first common parent.

    Somehow I had...

I'm listening for a click event on a component.

Does that event go up the component chain or can a sibling component catch it?

Access to the nightly builds allows development to proceed with out having to write overrides to continue. It also allows one to check to see if the bug was really fixed in your own situation.

Mostly the ones who worked on Architect.

I did not use v3 so I did not notice the performance hit. My applications respond fine but are simple uses of ExtJS tied to other code for maps.

    I do...

I'm guessing the devs have no status with the investors in Sencha.

I've had no contact with those pictured. Only with the devs, mostly those who have left Sencha, who actually know how the code...
  18. @evant Thanks for that example. While I have not done as much doc reading as I should, that is the 1st example of the use of the view model which opened my eyes as to how to use it.

    I'd like...

    Mitchell,

I'm not questioning you or your comments. I appreciate that you respond on the forum. Communication here is important.

I'm just commenting on Sencha's slow response to bugs....
  20. According to Mitchell in this post

You call 5.0.1 a maintenance release. And thus 5.1.1 will be a maintenance release? Why are there over 200 fixes in 5.1.1? Why did you not have 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 and 5.1.3 ... on to 5.1.10 or more?...
  22. It seems that the answer to the question in the title is given here:

For that reason alone I wish we could have more frequent bug releases.

Fix a few and release them. The sooner and more frequent the better!

We want just want code which works properly. :D

I agree. Bug fix releases should be small and just fix bugs. Smash the bug and give us the fix. We want code which works properly.

    I think that 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.3 ... 5.1.14 ... should have been...

We sure would like to see regular (monthly?) bug fix releases!

Squash those bugs and give us a good product.
