    Default ExtJS and Touchscreen Devices

I am wondering if there is any plans to adapt Ext (through a theme) to lend itself to touchscreen computers better than it currently does?

Without a lot of hassle, developers currently can't use ExtJS when developing web apps for touch screens (say for example, in a factory/warehouse where a keyboard and mouse setup do not work so well).

I've had a quick look around and googled for such a theme, but whilst there are many people requesting such a feature there is no solution.

I'm open to suggestions for adapting the current ExtJS framework to touchscreen devices.

EDIT: when referring to touchscreen devices I'm talking about computers that have touchscreens, NOT mobile devices

Like I am doing, I'm just changing some CSS rules to increase the sizes of some things. My first drafts I've done are with the Window, Panel, and TabPanel classes. You can do this easy by finding the rules that need changing with Firebug.

We'll have more on our plans for these devices in the coming days.

I don't think the touch screen devices can be detected by JS.

Using Ext JS with a touch All-in-One isn't too bad. I've just been using Windows 7 to just make my finger a point n click type deal.
My team designed a java plugin to determine if the system is a touch enabled right now which it sends an ajax request to my server so it knows. Until js can detect if it's a touch device or not.

I just did bigger buttons and any input field Win 7 handles by using the on screen keyboard. So it's not too bad but once all the special touch gestures get in my team will be in heaven.

that needs to be supported by the browser(s) and the hardware.

Hard to do isn't it lol People need to learn how easy theming is and they don't have to keep asking for others to do it for them.

my question wasn't whether Ext will provide support for touchscreen device detection, it was whether there will be a theme that's not just the images being resized

i could resize images myself, i wouldn't be asking otherwise

My comment was in response to Jamie's. His comment was reflecting the now published SenchaTouch framework, which is built for mobile touch screen devices.

Ext JS was not designed for touch screen applications and I have not heard of any direction to do so.
