    Default Domino + YUI... a little help (newbie)

    Hi,

    Firstly, I would like to say how amazing this all is...the possiblity of creating a Domino web application with this functionality is just amazing...and its all thanks to Jack. (I will be donating shortly)

    I am having a problem with a simple Dialog example within notes, I have all the .js and .css files in my File Resource list, but i'm getting a 'YAHOO is Undefined' and 'YAHOO.ext.EventManager' is null or not an object'. I am a complete newbie to HTML/CSS and JS and am wondering where I have gone wrong. Here is my HTML code :

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="yui-ext.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://us.js2.yimg.com/us.js.yimg.com/lib/common/utils/2/utilities_2.1.0.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/reset-min.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/resizable.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/tabs.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/basic-dialog.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/layout.css" />
    <script language="javascript" src="layout.js"></script>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <input type="button" id="show-dialog-btn" value="Show Dialog" />

    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Thanks for any help and I hope everyone keeps up the great work!

    Jamie Grant.

    It could be that your script inclusion order is wrong.

    yui-ext depends upon the presence of the YAHOO utilities. It's an extension of the Yahoo UI.

    No idea what Domino is, but it's being done: http://www.openntf.org/Projects/pmt....p/Domino%20YUI

    I have changed the order of my inclusion to the following :

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="utilities_2.1.0.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="yui-ext.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/reset-min.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/resizable.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/tabs.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/basic-dialog.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="yui-ext/resources/css/layout.css" />
    <script language="javascript" src="layout.js"></script>
    TEST
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <input type="button" id="show-dialog-btn" value="Show Dialog" />

    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Now I'm getting a strange error : ''Null' is null or not an object' thanks for any help.

    Where in the code is that happening? Use Firebug.

    If you can't figure it out, post the relevant contents of layout.js so we can see what you're doing.

    Hi, Thanks for all the replies, i managed to debug it using FireBug (great tool BTW!)

    I have another question tho, does anyone know what command to use to keep the tabs visible and not just when the first one is opened?

    Thanks

    I don't understand the question. You're saying the tabs disappear?

    It's best if you can point to an example of your code running.

    In Lotus Notes (Domino) I am setting the the areas up as follows :

    center: {
    titlebar: false,
    autoScroll: true,
    tabPosition: 'top',
    closeOnTab: true
    }

    When I open a document, it opens a new tab in the Center section. If there are no tabs open the tab bar is not visible. - Could i set something in the above code to make them visible all the time.

    Hope this makes sense

    Thanks

    Jamie.

    I think this problem is a duplicate of this http://www.yui-ext.com/forum/viewtop...er=asc&start=0

    Having to put a "placeholder" ContentPanel into a Region to make it appear if it's needed to start "empty", and then have ContentPanels added to it programatically.
