Thread: [EXTJSIV-2470] [4.0.1] ComboBox not issuing queryParam on paging requests

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for a bug in our system in a recent build.

    Default [EXTJSIV-2470] [4.0.1] ComboBox not issuing queryParam on paging requests

    1. Go to http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/ext-3.3...um-search.html
    2. Type in the word "test", and hit down-arrow.
    3. Note that you are on page 1 of 3, and that paging takes you to the correct next page
    4. In Firebug or Fiddler, note that a value corresponding to queryParam (in this case, "query") has been issued on the load and each page request.

    Then,

    1. Go to http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/ext-4.0...um-search.html
    2. Type in the word "test", and hit down-arrow.
    3. Note that you are on page 1 of 3
    4. Click the Next Page button
    5. Note that you are on page 2 of 668
    6. In Firebug or Fiddler, note that a value corresponding to queryParam (in this case, "query") has been issued on the load, but not each page request.

    Feeling ignored? I know that feeling well

    btw,
    I finally setup a remote-store-combobox example to toy around with it more, and I can reproduce the bug in my setup as well. (Not that I had any doubts, just wanted to make sure we didn't overlook anything that is specific for the forum-search example).

    Interestingly, there is a kind of 'reverse' bug to this as well.

    When one switches the page in a ComboBox list and then changes the query term, Ext will send the old page information (page, offset, limit) to the server alongside the changed query term.

    Usually that doesn't work out that well, especially when the new query term narrows down the list to have less pages or none at all.

    Well, I'm sure there's a lot of crap they're wading through... Would like to see a more consistent approach to either the submission or review process (even some sort of tick mark on the thread to indicate that Sencha has seen it)...

    Your example's a good one - there's definitely more work to be done on this one!

    Not sure if I should add to this thread or create a new one.

    In 3.x, a new query would reset the 'start' value.

    In 4.x, if you have navigated to a different page (different start), and type in a new query, the request to the server would contain possibly an out of range start and page value.

    request: { query:'something1', start :0, limit:20, page 1 }
    request: { query:'something1', start :21, limit:20, page 2 }

    request: { query:'somethingelse', start :21, limit:20, page 2 }

    This seems like as good a place as any - sounds like something related, if not identical!

    We're looking into this one right now, if the fix comes in soon enough it will make it into 4.0.2
