    The grid uses the "natural" height of its cell contents plus some padding:
    Code:
    .x-grid-cell-inner {
        overflow: hidden;
        padding: 3px 6px;
        white-space: nowrap;

    }
    You can for example change the padding in your own CSS or make the cell content wrap or set a fixed height in the CSS class.
    ExtJS 4 plugins:
    varheaders - short/normal/long column header
    clearbutton - mouseover clear button in text field

    Also take a look at the Ext.grid.View getRowClass method.
