Default [ExtJS 4.0.2a] Nested text/combo in menu does not allow spaces

    Ext version tested:
    • Ext 4.0.2a

    Browser versions tested against:
    • Chrome
    • IE9
    • FF5 (firebug 1.7.3)

    • When a Ext.form.field.Text or Ext.form.field.ComboBox is nested inside a menu, typing a space into the text area does not work.

    Steps to reproduce the problem:

    The result that was expected:
    • Spaces should be allowed

    The result that occurs instead:
    • No spaces show up in the combo box.

    Test Case:

See this URL for live test case:

    Debugging already done:
    • Could not find cause

    Possible fix:
    • not provided

    Additional CSS used:
    • only default ext-all.css

    Operating System:
    • Windows7

    Default Same problem in 4.0.7

Was there a solution found for this? I am seeing exactly the same problem in 4.0.7. By the way, I also tried using vtype that explicitly allows for spaces to be entered (vtype: 'alpha') but that did not help either...

At this point what I have noticed is that the "change" event is not fired when the space key is entered. Normally, there is a "change" event followed by "beforequery" event whenever there is a key stroke. But with the space key, there is only the "beforequery" event.
