Default Rendering Google maps panel in the background?

So I'm trying to create an app that will track your location and as you change directions, it will add markers. The problem I'm running into is that it will not put these markers on the map until the panel that the map is in has been activated.

I have my app setup inside of a Tab Panel, the user will have a start button as well as some info on the first panel (the map is in the second panel). Is there a way I can render the map without the panel being selected first?

Did you try the Ext.Map's "doComponentLayout()" method after adding the markers?
