There will definitely be guides in place for the 2.0 launch describing how to upgrade your applications.
If you use any custom components, those will require the most amount of work to upgrade, as the class system has changed drastically, just like ExtJS 4. As for Standard components, will be providing backwards compatibility for anything we can, and anything we cannot will be mentioned in the guide.
Hi, Thanks for your response. I'm completely new to sencha so I'm not really sure when / how often custom components need to be used. Can you please provide a use case for custom components? Do the majority of sencha touch apps contain custom components?
I'm looking to use sencha touch to build a twitter like app that communicates with a web server. I would like to use the MVC pattern that sencha touch provides.
Expect to rewrite the entire application until 2 is backward compatible with 1. Even then if you have custom components, which is probably likely expect to rewrite those. How and when custom components are needed depends entirely on design goals.
