Answered: How to make textfield read only?
Is it possible to make a textfield read only, without setting it to disabled?
Have you tried using the readOnly config?

Problem with setting property...
Setting readOnly property is working fine. But when I set it at run time like. Ext.getCmp('test').setReadOnly( true). is not working.
Thanks in advance.........

setReadOnly (true) or false is not working in latest sencha 2.3 but its works fine for earlier version of sencha.
