    Default View's un-documented onLaunch method?

Why does a view (in the case of the application I've inherited) have an onLaunch method, and why isn't it documented? Interestingly in the context of a view onLaunch seems to fire after initComponent. This is confusing: why does a view need an onLaunch method?

    Default

I could only find two references to onLaunch and that is in the controller and application files. I don't see where a view has an onLaunch method.
