    Default ExtJs v/s RichFaces?

Could someone throw some light on what are pros and cons of choosing between ExtJs and RichFaces, and what factors should be kept in mind while selecting one over the other?

you cannot really compare both frameworks, because the one (rich-faces) is some kind of plug-in/addon for JSF and therefor a Java centric, component based web framework - the other one (extjs) is a pure javascript framework. You don't deal with the server side part in extjs...

if you want to compare which ui components both frameworks deals with, you may take a look at both example pages of rich-faces and extjs.

If you want to play with extjs you should consider some other framework for the server part as well (if using java) - e.g. Spring-MVC (recommended), grails or even JSF.
