Cannot Generate .apk for Getting Started Application
I am trying to use Sencha 2.0 to go native for both iOS and Android on an OsX 10.6.8 (aka Snow Leopard) machine.
I've downloaded the sencha-touch-2.0.0.commercial package and the SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-Beta-osx as well, and successfully installed the latter.
Here's step by step what I am doing:
1. while in the Sencha SDK dir run:
sencha generate app GS ../GSFirst issue I have to point out here is that the generated app runs on Safari only and not in Chrome.
Anyway, I cannot build a native iOS package by running (as stated in the Guide):
sencha package run packager.jsonbut I am successfull with:
sencha app build nativeOne day I'll figure out why...
Let's say I'm okay with the iOS part, now I come to Android. Being a native Android developer I guess I shall be able to manage things better, so I let sencha generate a config file for me:
sencha package generate android.jsonRelevant changes to generated files are:
Note that I have Android APi level 8 installed on the targeted sdkPath, of course.
Ok, as a next step I run:
sencha package run android.json
This does not generate any .apk file in the output dir, but all the files needed for a full Android project, as long as I can tell.
By the way, pls note that the generated asset folder contains again all the iOS build in the build subdir and again the buildAndroid subdir repeated a lot of times. I do tried to compile the generated files, ending up with an over then 100 Megabytes .apk file.
Can anyone in the forum please point me towards the right path for building an .apk?
What am I missing here?
If it could be useful to some one: problem was that it looks like the outputPath cannot be inside the app path itself.
Setting outputPath somewhere else, e.g. on the Desktop, completely solved the issue
