Default Level of effort for making a 'fat' Neptune theme

The neptune theme looks really nice and will work nicely with the app we are building though it doesn't look like all the browser incompatibilities are going away any time soon so I was wondering how much work it would be to make a neptune theme that isn't really using all the awesome sprite performance boosts so it will work now.

maybe called 'pluto' since that is no longer a planet and this isn't really a neptune theme?

I'm going through tutorials and learning how to use theme slicer and stuff but wanted to see if anyone has already accomplished this or if what I'm attempting will take more than just a couple days.

    Thanks for the insights

You can get far by changing the base color and some other colors. Images of course will need to be created (Slicer is going to make a comeback hopefully when 4.1.0 GA comes out)
