    Create an override. These files are editable from your own editor and are very similar to how Designer treated the implementation fiels.

    Keep in mind however that currently we will not warn you of changes made outside and/or reload your overrides files if they are open in Architect.

    Future versions will reload certain files automatically (not sure of timing on this).

    The point is to only edit overrides in one or the other (external editor vs Arch) and you'll be safe. Trying to edit in both could cause loss of code.

    Thank your for your replies. The overrides seem the way to go. I also read more on what's new in ExtJs 4, and another way to handle this would be through the use mixins.
