Thread: emptyText Cannot Be Used as Value

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-6127 in a recent build.

    Default emptyText Cannot Be Used as Value

    REQUIRED INFORMATION Ext version tested:
    • Ext 4.0.7

    Browser versions tested against:
    • FireFox
    • IE

    DOCTYPE tested against:
    • html

    Description:
    • When using emptyText, if the user types the emptyText word(s) in - getValue() will return an empty string

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • Create textfield with emptyText "search"
    • Type "search" in the box
    • getValue() on the field

    The result that was expected:
    • I should see "search" when doing getValue()

    The result that occurs instead:
    • An empty string is returned from getValue()
