    Default Ajax Request - "this.fireEvent is not a function"

    Hello,

    I'm trying to run an AJAX request to my server, but for some reason I get the error: "this.fireEvent is not a function" in ext-all-debug.js line 5112. My code is below:

    Code:
    var removeRequest = new Ext.Ajax.request({
        url: '/lineitems/ext_destroy/' + grid_lineitems.getSelectionModel().getSelected().id,
        failure: function() { Ext.MessageBox.alert("Error!", "There was an error communicating with the server.")}
    });
    I've seen other people post about this error in the forums, but haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong here. Any ideas why this would be happening?

    Thanks!

    Ext.Ajax.request is not a constructor.

    That would make sense. Cheers.
