    Default Grid Headers Help (Ext.grid.ColumnLayout, Ext.grid.header.Container)

    Can anyone explain the best way to get the headers and selectively choose which ones to render? Grid reconfiguration is not the answer I'm looking for. I'm trying to get infinite scroll working in both dimensions. The grid header layout stuff is a bit difficult for me to read and understand.

    You can hide a column using:
    grid.columns[1].hide();

    The goal is to reduce the number of DOM elements on the page without breaking hide/show/drag/etc.

    Ideally, columns out of visible range should not be rendered at all.

    Hiding the column hidden-column.pngstill renders regardless.

    Have you considered sending the metaData from the server and this way you know what is to be displayed each time instead of trying to determine this at the client level.

    The entire goal is to get the client to display only what is needed and as fast as possible. When you start managing unwanted data at the client, you have created your bottleneck.
