Thread: Pinch event throws errors in stock Android browser

Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for TOUCH-3553 in a recent build.

Default Pinch event throws errors in stock Android browser

    REQUIRED INFORMATION

    Framework version tested:

    • Touch 2.1.0-rc1
    Browser versions tested against:
    • Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.0.4 Stock Browser
    Description:
    • Performing a pinch action causes Touch to throw errors.
    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • Go to the Kitchen Sink Touch Events console
    • Enable debug mode by navigating to "about:debug" in address bar
    • Perform a pinch action by touching with both fingers at the same time. Note that if you touch using a single finger, and then later add an addition finger, the action functions normally.
    The result that was expected:
    • Pinch events to fire
    The result that occurs instead:
    • Pinch events do not fire and the Javascript console shows errors in TouchGesture.js

Thank you for the easy to use case. I was able to track it down and stop the errors which are caused by a stray touchstart event coming from Android 3.x and 4.0.x (seems to be fixed in 4.1.x).

Not a problem. Looking forward to rc2.
