Default Charts rendering BEHIND panels in Internet Explorer

I have a Tab panel wit two tabs, and a chart in a panel in both tabs. I have deferredRender set to false, and hideMode set to offsets, and the panels themselves render fine. But when I switch to the second tab, the panels which are supposed to contain the chart appear empty. But after some investigation, if I move my mouse around enough, I actually get the tooltips my chart would display if I hover over a scatter point. So it appears that the chart is being rendered BEHIND the panel, which makes no sense to me. This only happens in IE, and I am using Ext JS 4.1.1a.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!
