Best UI design in ExtJS
Hi,
I have to provide around 50 manual entries which has Input text, DatePicker, TextArea, ComboBox and ReadyOnly fields.
We have landing page (dashboard) which contains list of the data. On click on row on landing page; we have to provide above 50 manual entries to the user.
Right now I'm thinking to use ExtJS form in which we can display different tabs and can group certain fields over the tabs.
Please suggest me if you are aware about different approach rather than tab panel.
Our intension is to build rich and user friendly UI for the manul entries.
Thanks, Pravin

Hi Pravin,
It will depend entirely upon the type of data that needs to be entered and how it is structured but I have seen many an application display a grid of data and then fire up a form to edit a row of data when the user clicks it. While this approach clearly works it isn't great if there is a lot of data that needs to be edited.
In this scenario an editable grid is a much more efficient way to allow the user to edit large amounts of grid data. You can still embed complex field types in the cells such as DatePicker and ComboBox but the user can quickly TAB between fields and rows.
Take a look at the demo here and gauge whether it is appropriate to your needs:
