Default How to get absolute path for a downloaded file or to set default path for file downld

    Hi,

We have a scenario, where we need to capture the absolute path for a downloaded file and save it into database.
Currently we are using IE8, so we are not able to set a default path where the file should get downloaded all the time(we cannot change the download location by changing registry files due to security reason). I would appreciate if someone can suggest us something for following scenarios:

    1. Is there any way to capture the absolute path to which file got downloaded?
    2. Can we set default download path using ExtJS or something using JavaScript, which can help us in downloading the file to a specific directory.

    Thanks.

No, you can't, the browser can't access the local file system (at least, not without an ActiveX plugin).

Imagine going to some random website and them being able to send files to your hard drive!
