Answered: Need help with setting Sencha Cmd on my Windows 7 32bit
Today I downloaded Sancha SDK, Sancha Tools and finally Sencha Command. I am able to navigate to localhost/myapp folder, but it doesn't show the "Hello World".... I figured that I need to create application folder thru Sencha cmd only which was possible using Sencha cmd 3, so installed Sencha Command 188.8.131.52. So I have 3 folders :
1) c:\xampp\htdocs\touch --- SDK
2) c:\program ...(x86)\SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-beta3 - Tools
3) c:\...bin\Sencha\Cmd\184.108.40.206 - CMD
I open a cmd & From my SDK folder, I try giving command
sencha app create FirstTry ../FirstTry
In place of create, I tried with generate/resolve, but I get ERR - Please ensure this command was executed from a valid application directory.
With Sencha CMD2.0, I was getting error - The current working directory (...) is not a recognized Sencha SDK or application folder. Running in backwards compatible. I tried several cmd's from difference location thru docs, but none worked.
Can anyone help me know how do I start with creating a app folder and creating other apps in it OR where am I going wrong ? I spent lots of time trying to make the cmd work, but something is not working as expected and am not able to make it.
I just ignored Sencha Cmd, and from the docs of localhost/touch/docs, tried giving command
sencha generate app GS ../GS
and it got created. The biggest difference/mistake that I see is, I was using "sencha app generate..." and later from the SDK docs tried "sencha generate app....". You see the "app generate" & "generate app" difference.
Oh godness, If I had followed the sdk docs from first instead of other docs avbl on net, then would have saved so much of time and energy.
At present, I haven't uninstalled Tools or command, but as per the docs I think I don't need Command. Docs say to install only
First, you'll need to download the free Sencha Touch 2 SDK and SDK Tools from the Sencha website. You'll also need:
A web server running locally on your computer
A modern web browser; Chrome and Safari are recommended
Thanks a lot.
