Thread: [4.2 RC] Tooltip cuts off content

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-8824 in a recent build.

    We're seeing an issue with Firefox mac version only.

    I've seen nothing that would indicate that the higher powers are even aware that there is a Mac Firefox issue.
    Just adding my name to the list:

    With ExtJS 4.2.1, I'm still getting auto-width QuickTips cut off with Mac OSX Firefox, even when using the "delete Ext.tip.Tip.prototype.minWidth;" workaround.

    Have you tried the override proposed here?

    I found the below code (not my own) helpful. It works in IE11, FF and Chrome. Dont have older versions of IE to test with. I am using ExtJS 4.2.0 for my application.

    Code:
    Ext.override(Ext.tip.QuickTip, {
            helperElId: 'ext-quicktips-tip-helper',
            initComponent: function ()
            {
                var me = this;

                me.target = me.target || Ext.getDoc();
                me.targets = me.targets || {};
                me.callParent();

                // new stuff
                me.on('move', function ()
                {
                    var offset = me.hasCls('x-tip-form-invalid') ? 35 : 12,
                        helperEl = Ext.fly(me.helperElId) || Ext.fly(
                            Ext.DomHelper.createDom({
                                tag: 'div',
                                id: me.helperElId,
                                style: {
                                    position: 'absolute',
                                    left: '-1000px',
                                    top: '-1000px',
                                    'font-size': '12px',
                                    'font-family': 'tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif'
                                }
                            }, Ext.getBody())
                        );

                    if (me.html && (me.html !== helperEl.getHTML() || me.getWidth() !== (helperEl.dom.clientWidth + offset)))
                    {
                        helperEl.update(me.html);
                        me.setWidth(Ext.Number.constrain(helperEl.dom.clientWidth + offset, me.minWidth, me.maxWidth));
                    }
                }, this);
            }
        });

    hope it helps others who stumble upon this problem and still working with ExtJS 4.x
