    Looks like we can't reproduce the issue or there's a problem in the test case provided.

    Code:
             if (preventLoad !== true && !root.isLoaded() && (me.autoLoad === true || root.isExpanded())) {
                 root.data.expanded = false;
                 root.expand();
             }
    probably this should be so

    Code:
             if (preventLoad !== true && !root.isLoading() && (me.autoLoad === true || root.isExpanded())) {
                 root.data.expanded = false;
                 root.expand();
             }
