    Default Unanswered: ColumnConfig`s ID

    Hi,

In GXT 2, every column config (to be put into ColumnModel) had id. It was very handy, taking into account we create columns dinamically (meaning our grid has no "fixed" structure). And there was a method in ColumnModel to lookup a column by id.

In GXT 3, a column config has no id anymore... Does anyone know what the reason is of getting rid of the id?

For now I`ve chosen to implement a custom ValueProvider with "getPath" method returning the id, but it rather looks like a misuse of ValueProvider concept.

Does anyone know if there is an alternative?

    Thanks in advance.

    Default

I can't speak to the ID issue but the value returned by getPath is used in SortInfo so if you do server-side sorting, this is what's sent to the server.

Additionally, if you are using the PropertyAccess interface to define your value providers, the name of the interface method is the default value for getPath.
