Default Unable to show minimized window on Mac

    REQUIRED INFORMATION

    Architect Build tested:

    • Build: 971

    Project Type:
    • ExtJS 4.x
    • Touch 2.x

    Description:
    • On MAC, there's no Window menu option to show a minimized window!

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • open SA
    • click the yellow (-) "minus" button to minimize
    • good luck bringing the window back... have to quit and reopen!

    The result that was expected:
    • should be able to bring the window back...

    The result that occurs instead:
    • window disappears with no apparent hope of return

    HELPFUL INFORMATION

    Screenshot, Project, or Video:

    • n/a

    Possible fix:
    • provide a window menu to restore/unminimize a window for both project selection screen and when you have opened a project.
    • Perhaps remove the minimize option from the window chrome?

    Operating System:
    • Mac OS 10.8.3

    I cannot reproduce in OS X 10.8.3.

Can you give us additional steps and perhaps a video?

    Default Non-obvious work flows

First, let me say that I have not used a Mac for 10 years prior to diving back in this year. So a lot of the work-flows between Mac and Windows are (obviously) different.

On Windows, I can Alt-Tab to find my app and restore it if it was minimized. Or the application will have a "Window" menu option to restore it.

The Mac has no such feature. I just realized that you can click on the active app in the quick bar at the bottom of the screen to restore it...

It's worth mentioning that FireFox has a "Window" menu that would restore your minimized window on Mac.

Perhaps you guys could consider adding this to SA?

Ah I see what you mean; it shows a listing of the windows you have open including ones that are minimized and will then raise it if you click one.

This is something we could add down the line but not a high priority at this point.
