Default Using nested lists lines as containers for widgets

First of all sorry for this question which may be dumb and just plain easy but please tolerate me I'm just a C/C++ programmer struggling with Javascript. ;-/

I would like to do something like this http://demo.openhab.org:8080/openhab...map=demo#_Home using the nested list and would like to put some websocket widgets on each line together with icons/text. What is the best way to accomplish something like that? Some example code or pointer would be wonderful.

    /Ake
