    Default Answered: Splash Screen animation

    Hi All,

    I am developing a sencha app. There is an gif splash screen(moving fish from one screen to another). On app start fish animation is so jerky and slow, how can i overcome this? Any idea!

    In index.html my code is

    <body class="splashBody">
    <div id="appLoadingIndicator">
    <div class="contentHold">
    <img id='img1' src='resources/images/default.gif'/>
    <div class="brandText">
    <p>
    where words live in a different world!
    </p>
    </div>
    </div>
    </div>

    </body>

    and my code for app.js is

    launch: function() {
    // Destroy the #appLoadingIndicator element
    Ext.fly('appLoadingIndicator').destroy();

    Ext.Viewport.add([
    {xtype:'mainmenuview'}
    ]);

    Ext.event.publisher.TouchGesture.prototype.isNotPreventable=/^(select|a|input|textarea)$/i;
    }

    Any idea on this how can i overcome this?

  2. your best bet would be to do an css animation for the fishi.
    But at the start of the app, all content is being loaded and initialized, so basically JS is keeping the browser busy. It might be best to do very slow steps, so that it does not matter if the browser skips some steps in the animation.
