Default CPU float up and down in web page with Ext

For example, I open the 'Kitchen Sink' example in api in IE8, then I can see CPU float between 0%-4%. However I don't do anything even mousemove. 4% may be OK, but I made a complex website and CPU floats to 30%. So I wonder what Ext did covertly for us. What can I do to improve my website.
I am sorry my English is poor.I hope it can make you understand and thank you for help

Unfortunately, IE8 is not known for its efficiency, and web pages can quickly slow down because of it. This blog post discusses optimization which may help you improve your site.
