    Looks like we can't reproduce the issue or there's a problem in the test case provided.

    Default Dates not handled properly

    Code:
    Ext.define('MyClass', {
            extend : 'Ext.data.Model',
    
            fields : [
                { name : 'foo', type : 'date', dateFormat : 'Y-m-d' }
            ]
        })
    
        var rec = new MyClass({
            foo : '2011-12-24'
        })
        console.log(rec.get('foo')) // Ext 5 gives a string, Ext 4 gives a real date.
    Still open in the latest beta
