    Default Answered: Extjs Learning Stuff

    Hi All,

I am looking for EXTJS resource to learn.

can anyone please suggest the best e-books available(Free and paid both) ?

or please suggest which one is better between Practical Extjs4 vs Extjs4 Web development cookbook ?

    Thanks,
    Ankit

  2. Hi!

I have not read the book 'Pratical Ext JS 4'.

Ext JS 4 Web Application Development Cookbook it's a very good book.

    Other books:

    Ext JS 4 First Look
    Mastering Ext JS
    Learning Ext JS
    Learning Ext JS 4
Ext JS 4 Plugin And Extension Development
Entreprise Application Development with Ext JS and Spring
    Ext JS Data-driven Application Design
    Ext JS in Action

Unfortunately, in my opinion of beginner, the mere reading of one of these books, or even all, is not enough to minimally fill the EXTJS learning curve.

EXTJS have (for me), yet, a Legendary Learning Curve

Worth the effort; is an excelent framework.

If he went back to the beginning of learning, i buy first:

    Ext JS 4 First Look

    and then

    Mastering Ext JS

and then the other books (if possible)

The reason is because both books are by the same author 'Loiane Groner'.

The first one, gives an overview of the EXTJS 4

The second is dedicated to building an app, and is as it were the continuation of the first book.

Another reason it´s because Loiane Groner has a EXTJS 4 free online course (not yet complete).
A very, very good course, but in portuguese (brasilian).
    She is an excellent communicator.

I can tell you one to avoid - Learning Ext JS 4 by Crystfel Villa and Armando Gonzalez. It is assumes too much for a true beginner and there is not enough detail for anyone with any experience. I have found the tutorials within the documentation are pretty good for getting started. I have yet to find something covering more advanced scenarios.

    Default A little suggestion

BEFORE start learning ExtJs, LEARN JavaScript first!: it's much much much more difficult of one's can think (much much ... more than C, C++ Java, VB, VBA, Perl, PL/1, COBOL, Rexx, Lisp [some of the programming languages that I've learned in the last 25 years ...).

After that ... ExtJs has not a "Legendary Learning Curve'" !
    It's simple impossible to learn!

    Why?

Simple: you will need at least one year to master it properly.
In the meanwhile Sencha will release a new revolutionary version!

Like Zeno's paradox, you, Achilles. will never get the Tortoise: of course: ExtJs!

Good luck and don't give up; ExtJs is the best framework in town!
