Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-16390 in 5.1.3.228.

Default Problem with Clipboard plugin (Spreadsheet Model)

Pasting cells from MS Excel sheet to ExtJS grid (spreadsheet model + clipboard plugin) results in an extra row being added at the bottom. Please Help.

Copy (2 rows and 2 cols)

Why an additional update is made? (highlighted in red box). I don't face this problem when I paste my selection in another MS Excel Sheet. Please Help.

Thanks for the report. I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. Can you please post a test case which recreates the problem you are seeing?

Hi Gary, Thanks for the helping hand. For the test case, please copy any cell from any of your MS Excel spreadsheet and then paste it to grid shown here - http://dev.sencha.com/ext/5.1.0/exam...k/#spreadsheet

Thanks. I did follow your original directions, pasting a 2x2 clipping from an Excel spreadsheet, but for me the 4 cells paste in just fine -- no extra row on the bottom. In which browser are you seeing this issue?

    Hello,
I tried with Chrome 39, Firefox 34, IE 10 (Windows 7 64 bit) and all showed the same bug.

I created a new Excel file and wrote this in it:
    1 2
    3 4
then I copied the 4 cells and pasted them inside the grid.
    What I got is:
    1 2
    3 4
    '' ''

    Note 1)
In IE you get this ("null" instead of "empty"):
    1 2
    3 4
    null null

    Note 2)
In Chrome, where there is "empty", the selection border in the cell is too small.

    I hope this helps.

As confirmed by agarberi, there is something wrong. In FireFox I get empty but dirty cells while IE fills the cells with null.

One more thing, If I paste the cells on another Excel sheet, no issues there but when I paste the cells on a notepad/notepad++ I do see the cursor moves to the next line and that could be the reason. Basically clipboard copy does copy 2 rows and one blank row when excel cells are copied.

Also, no need for multiple cells, I could reproduce this with single cell selection as well.

    I hope this helps. Thanks

I see it now -- it only happens in Windows.

Thanks for the report! I have opened a bug in our bug tracker.

Default Has this bug been corrected?

    Hello all,

I experienced exactly the same issues in windows. Is there an update without this bug available?

    Best regards,
    Markus

Still unresolved at this time. I've added a note to the bug ticket to help give it better priority.
