    Default Passing an HTTP HEAD Request

    I want to make an HTTP HEAD request in Ext JS. I am not sure how to do this. If for example I am making an Ajax Call is it possible to do: Note that I am not making a GET or POST request with Headers

    Code:
    Ext.Ajax.request({
                                                url: urlPath
                                                method: 'HEAD',
                                                         params:{ "param1" :paramval,

                                                    }
    will this work ? On the serverside (Java). I am trying to use req.getParameter("param1") ? This returns null presently
