Thread: Scrolling Issues in latest Google Chrome

Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-17517 in 6.0.0.

Default Scrolling Issues in latest Google Chrome

    Issue:
When I attempt to scroll I randomly see a square instead of the familiar scroll bar and can drag but not scroll. (It will snap back If i try to - Randomly means, that it works on some pages)

    Reproduce:
    Install / Open Google Chrome Version 43.0.2357.18 m (64-bit)
    Visit http://docs-origin.sencha.com/touch/...e/kitchen-sink
    Try to scroll

Thanks for the report. I'm not seeing this. Where are you seeing the square? Are you seeing the issue on a device as well?

    Hello Gary,

I'm not seeing this on any Phone or Tablet thought. It came with the latest update of Google Chrome. (Not happening on other browser either)

This is making it impossible to develop with Google Chrome on PC for me. (And I'm doing so for the last few month quite happily)

I think we should not wait until Androids Google Chrome version updates. Imagine all the Apps that are unable to scroll in some places.

For the square see this Screenshot:

I'm still not seeing the issue. It behaves the same for me whether Chrome or Firefox. I'm only able to upgrade to Chrome 42. Is your 43.0.2357.18 a stable release?

I'm afraid you're right. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Google Chrome and now it says Version 42.0.2311.90 m is up to date. Seems like our Administrators are installing betaware :SAnyways this issue is something to keep in mind thought.

Thanks for the follow-up. Yes, let's hope they work that out before releasing.

The Chrome 43 release has some significant changes. DOM attributes now on the prototype for example

    https://groups.google.com/a/chromium...ev/H0MGw0jkdn4
    http://updates.html5rocks.com/2015/0...-the-prototype

Has Sencha a plan to release a version that supports these changes?

It's actually breaking Sencha Touch 2.4.1 on Chrome 43. Examples:
    - http://docs-origin.sencha.com/touch/...yle/index.html
    - http://docs-origin.sencha.com/touch/...sel/index.html

These are not "issues" that may or may not dissapear in 6 weeks time when Chrome 43 goes stable, as the above links state, these are API changes that will not be "corrected".
You can test this on Android by installing the Chrome Beta app from the Google Play Store, and on Desktop by switching to the Beta Channel.

This problem is still present in the now-beta-promoted v43.x

Chrome 43 removed the overflowchanged event and that breaks PaintMonitor and SizeMonitor as the logic there only caters for WebKit browsers with a specific engine version and the engine didn't change from Chrome 42 to Chrome 43.
