Thread: Grouping is not working when value is null

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-17776 in 6.2.2.

    Default Grouping is not working when value is null

    Hi,

    With version 6.0 I'm not able to group a set of objects when some of the elements has null attributes.

    For example, if I have tasks with labels, and I group per label, it works well if all actions have a not null value in the label attribute; otherwise I'm getting this error: http://cl.ly/image/0H02220x0400

    I'm happy to create a fiddle once 6.0.0 is available in: fiddle.sencha.com/#home

    Same code is working fine in 5.1.0

    Thanks
    Kind regards

    Thanks for the report. Can you please go ahead and post that test Fiddle? I'll be able to test against 6.x. Thanks!

    Hi Gary,

    Thanks for your quick response.

    This would be the fiddle: https://fiddle.sencha.com/#fiddle/mru.

    It's working fine in 5.1.0; Should not work with 6.0.0, but I'm not able to select this version in fiddle.sencha.com

    Would it be enough for you to track it?
    Thanks
    Kind regards

    Is there an override available for 5.1.1?

    Can't find EXTJS-17776 in nightly build 20150526, when will it be released?

    This issue has been fixed for 5.1.2 (and 6.0.0) . I don't currently have a workaround for this.

    I just ran into this bug myself in 5.1.1.

    In my case I added objects(models) to a store but they only had a few parameters filled in, the rest was added from the server during the store.sync(). One of the empty fields were the grouping field, when I added data to it manually before adding the object to the store the problem went away.

    I then did this:

    Store.suspendEvents();
    // Add objects
    Store.Sync();
    Store.resumeEvents();

    And the problem went away, would this be considered a clean workaround?

    Hit this issue today when trying to migration from 4.0.7 to 5.1.1.

    Any date when 5.1.2 will be available? The code quality in Ext JS is still a major problem!

    I don't currently have a date I can share with regards to 5.1.2, but I expect to have more information next week, which I will certainly post.

    Bug is indeed fixed in the nightly. I hope it does not take half a year for 5.1.2 to be released ...
