    Default Tap sucks? generic question

I have never seriously explored touch.

Now that I can build a universal app, I'm looking harder.

I did the basic demo template and hauled out an iPad Mini.

Tapping is not a satisfying experience. Not all all. Long, hard, quick, light... cannot find something that works. It's like using an optical mouse on a glass table, onlt every third or fourth tap fires...

I have vague recollections of reading somewhere about a 300ms delay (?)

Any experienced touch users give me hope here? Your experience?

Does tapping really suck, is it the screens themselves, or is it sencha, or is there more I need to do?

There seems to be no rhyme or reason.Sometimes a quick tap works, sometimes a hard or log one ..... hmmph. I'm just kinda surprised.

I'm currently porting a classic (Ext JS 5) app to Ext JS 6 and am currently working on the modern toolkit version. I'm not experiencing any delays and the application is very responsive to me. I'm keeping the modern app very simple and I am keeping the DOM very lightweight but am using ViewModel and ViewControllers like I would in a classic app.

Thanks for your reply Mitchell, that helps. What theme are you using? You did not do anything special to make buttons bigger etc?

It may simply be my age. I watched small devices become useless to my own parents, I guess it is coming up my turn.

No, I'm not doing any special button sizing. I'm extending from theme-triton
